VU launches three advanced courses in data analysis, optimisation, and generative AI

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam announces three new courses. These advanced programmes offer professionals the opportunity to enhance their skills in data analysis, optimisation, and generative artificial intelligence, combining in-depth knowledge with practical applications.

The VU is offering three innovative courses starting in 2025:

Data Science with Python (March 7, 2025)
This 8-day course covers essential Python techniques and data analysis methods, including NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Scikit-learn. Participants will learn to manipulate, visualise, and interpret data—skills that are increasingly critical across industries.

Mathematical Optimisation with Python (April 11, 2025)
This 8-day course focuses on advanced optimisation techniques, such as linear, network, and stochastic optimisation. Participants will use Pyomo and solve realistic case studies in dynamic, uncertain environments.

Generative AI (May 9, 2025)
This 8-day course explores the potential of generative AI, including GANs, VAEs, and techniques like diffusion models and transformers. Participants will gain hands-on experience with TensorFlow and PyTorch and work on a capstone project.
